What it is

Aesthetic braces — the plain-English version.

Aesthetic braces work the same way traditional braces do — small brackets bonded to each tooth, connected by an archwire — but the brackets are finished in a more subtle material or color. Three options sit under this umbrella: clear ceramic, champagne gold, and rose gold. Pick the one that fits how visible you want the brackets to be.

Overview

How treatment works.

  • Clear ceramic — translucent brackets that blend with tooth enamel.
  • Champagne gold — warm metallic finish, popular with adults who want a subtler-than-silver look.
  • Rose gold — softer pink-toned finish, often chosen by teens.
  • All three move teeth on the same timeline as traditional braces — about 18 – 30 months.

Is this for you

When aesthetic braces are the right call

  • Adults in professional settings where appearance matters.
  • Teens who want a less-obvious bracket without going to clear aligners.
  • Cases where Invisalign isn't the right fit but aesthetics still matter.

The visits

What the process actually looks like.

Step-by-step, so there are no surprises at the chair.

  1. Consultation

We confirm aesthetic braces are clinically appropriate for the bite, then walk through which of the three finishes makes sense for your case and preference.

  2. Bonding day

Brackets in your chosen finish are bonded to each tooth. About an hour in the chair.

  3. Routine adjustments

Same cadence as traditional braces — short visits every 4 – 8 weeks to keep the wire on track.

  4. Retention

A retainer holds the result after the brackets come off. Worn nightly long-term.

Common questions

Frequently asked.

  • Do clear brackets stain?

The ceramic brackets themselves don't stain. The elastic ties between bracket and wire can pick up color from coffee, curry, or red wine — those get swapped at every adjustment, so any staining is gone within weeks.

  • Are gold and rose gold metal or ceramic?

Both are metal brackets with a colored finish. They're slightly stronger than the clear ceramic option.

  • Is treatment time longer than with traditional braces?

No. Treatment time depends on the bite, not the bracket finish. About 18 – 30 months for typical cases.
