What it is

Porcelain veneers — the plain-English version.

A veneer is a thin layer of porcelain bonded to the front surface of a tooth. Veneers are used to address chips, gaps, discoloration, or worn enamel without removing the underlying tooth structure. They're custom-shaded and shaped to match the rest of the smile.

Overview

How treatment works.

  • Thin porcelain shells bonded to the front of the tooth.
  • Custom-shaded to blend with surrounding teeth.
  • Typically last 10 – 15 years with normal care.
  • A minimal amount of enamel is gently reshaped to seat the veneer.

Is this for you

When veneers make sense

  • Chipped or worn front teeth.
  • Gaps you'd rather close cosmetically than orthodontically.
  • Discoloration that doesn't respond to whitening.
  • Cases where the bite is otherwise healthy and stable.

The visits

What the process actually looks like.

Step-by-step, so there are no surprises at the chair.

  1. Consultation and design

We discuss the look you're after and take photos and impressions. A preview of the planned result is reviewed before any tooth preparation.

  2. Preparation visit

A minimal amount of enamel is reshaped to seat each veneer. Temporary veneers are placed while the permanent ones are fabricated.

  3. Fitting

Permanent veneers are bonded one by one. Final shaping and bite adjustment happen the same visit.

  4. Maintenance

Brushing, flossing, and routine cleanings keep veneers in good shape. We check them at regular hygiene visits.
