Booking and your first visit
Is the first consultation really free?
Yes. Dr. Mendivil examines the bite, takes any x-rays or a 3D scan that apply, and walks you through the findings, your options, the timeline, and what your insurance covers. You leave with a written estimate and no obligation to start that day.
How do I schedule an appointment?
Use the "Schedule a consultation" button anywhere on this site to request a time, or call the office at 661-323-5910. Tell us if a Spanish-speaking team member would help and we will plan the visit around it.
What happens at the first visit?
Check-in and paperwork, a clinical exam in a private treatment room, and a plain-English walk-through of your treatment plan and estimate. Most patients decide later, at home — there is no same-day pressure.
See the full first-visit walk-throughDo you treat children, teens, and adults?
All three. We see families researching orthodontics for their children, teens (including Invisalign Teen), and adults — many of them long-term, multi-generational patients since the practice opened in 1989.

Treatment
Braces, Invisalign, and complex care
What is the difference between braces and Invisalign?
Braces are fixed to the teeth; Invisalign uses a series of removable clear aligners planned from a 3D scan — no putty impressions. We are a certified Invisalign and Invisalign Teen provider. Which one fits depends on your bite, and we cover the trade-offs at the consultation.
What kinds of braces do you offer?
Traditional metal braces, aesthetic options in clear, gold, and rose gold, and lingual braces that mount behind the teeth — plus Invisalign clear aligners.
See aesthetic braces optionsDo you treat TMJ?
Yes. TMJ — the jaw joint that can click, pop, or ache when it is misaligned — is one of Dr. Mendivil’s areas of focus, and many patients come referred by their general dentist.

Yes. We provide consultative care and orthodontic continuity throughout the multi-year journey, coordinating the surgical phases with UCLA and other specialty centers. The orthodontic care stays with Dr. Mendivil from start to finish.
